Ontario is helping build a stronger, more diverse northern economy while creating six jobs in the Greater Sudbury area.

With support from the province’s Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC), Specialty Alloys and Stainless Ltd. is building a 5 200-square foot addition to its custom metal fabrication production facility in Lively. The company manufactures products for mining and other industrial sectors. This expansion project also includes the installation of two cranes and a laser cutter.

Investing in northern businesses is an important part of the Ontario government’s Growth Plan for Northern Ontario. A strong northern economy will help create a fair society and give the people of Ontario more opportunities for jobs and economic prosperity.

Quick Facts

  • Ontario is providing $500,000 to this project through NOHFC’s Enterprise North Job Creation program.
  • Since 2005, that program has invested $178 million to help expand or launch 369 businesses across Northern Ontario, creating or sustaining more than 6,750 jobs.
